Friday in China

Wow, just rode a 9 mile bike ride and it was ding ding hao (which means it was very very good in Chinese.). Mom and dad went on a tandem and Shanae and I and Lora and Cami went together on normal bikes. We rode on top of a 40 ft wall. It surrounds the old part of the city of Xi'an. Inside the wall the buildings are very old and cannot be tall but outside the wall are tall skyscraper buildings. A very interesting mix of the old and new. There is a mote all the way around the wall, all of which was built to protect the emperor from invaders. Originally the city inside the wall was only for the emperor's family. We went on a lot of bumps and it was fun to go up the ramps then go back down and go fast. Shanae and I finished first. Mom and dad were second and Lora and Cami stopped to take lots of pictures and visit with a little Chinese lady so they were last.

Any time we are away from a modern building the restroom facilities are rated by our guide from 1-star to 5-star so we will know if we want to go in. It has become a big joke among the younger kids on the tour...an accomplishment to have mastered the "squatty potty".
5 Star Squatty Potty
We are now on our way to the airport to go to Chengdu to visit the national panda preserve.
There are a couple of more pictures coming, older apt. buildings and five star squatty potty at the airport.
